Impressionism Artwork from Bonifacio

My art has a rich, impasto like texture, like that of an Impressionist. In some areas of the painting you’ll notice rich thick layers, while other areas may show bare canvas. The idea of broken color is, as you step back from the painting, the colors come together. To me, Impressionism isn’t about realism, it’s more about capturing the light and shadows by using cool and warm colors.

I cannot dismiss the importance of using complimentary colors! The beautiful blues with oranges, the ruby reds with vibrant greens, and the bright yellows with violets. Using color harmony is just as important as using broken color.
